HMH recognizes that students learn at varying rates and too often feel discouraged if they struggle to succeed. Our research-based special education curriculum programs with customized learning paths enable teachers to guide their students to meet Individualized Education Program (IEP) benchmarks, regardless of their natural learning pace.
An inclusive design supports students with IEPs through structured, multisensory instruction and flexible pacing.
Districts benefit from high‑quality resources that support differentiated instruction, strengthen reasoning, and ensure all students are held to consistent, high expectations.
Integrated placement, progress monitoring, and reporting help educators and leaders make informed instructional decisions. Clear data allows teams to track growth over time.
Read our special education guide that discusses how HMH solutions can help teachers enrich the lives of their students with learning disabilities and boost confidence every day.

Listen to a poem by Patricia Starek, Senior Product Manager at HMH, and take a minute to recognize how educators’ actions in the classroom matter to students with learning disabilities.
When I got into Read 180, it was like I had a whole new way of learning. My Lexile® scores went higher and higher. Read 180 changed my life!
