Don Bucolo

Dr. Donald Bucolo

Education Research Director, Core STEM

Dr. Bucolo is an Education Research Director managing core math, science, and social science research at HMH. He conducts efficacy studies to determine the impact of core STEM solutions in classrooms across the country, focusing on the role of program fidelity in meeting the needs of all students. His research interest also includes understanding how curriculum alignment impacts student success and studying the relationship between program quality and effectiveness. As part of the research team at HMH for 15 years, he has performed numerous program evaluation studies that employed various research designs and methodologies.

Previously, he was a visiting lecturer at Bridgewater State University, teaching statistics and research methodology courses. More recently, his research has focused on the impacts of new technologies on teacher practices and student outcomes. He has overseen program evaluations and research projects that have demonstrated that thoughtful implementation of educational technology can have a meaningful impact in the classroom. Donald holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire and a B.S. in Psychology from Rhode Island College.
