Andrew Goldman

EVP at HMH Labs

Andrew is EVP of HMH Labs following HMH’s 2024 acquisition of Writable, the company he co‑founded and led as CEO. He previously founded Subtext (acquired by Renaissance Learning) and Pandemic Studios (acquired by EA). Andrew holds a BA in Political Science from Brown and an MS in Human‑Computer Interaction from NYU, and he sailed for the 1988 U.S. Olympic team.

Dr. Kecia Ray

Dr. Kecia Ray

Former ISTE President and CEO of K20Connect

Dr. Ray is an award-winning administrator with a track record of transforming large urban districts. Harvard University and the U.S. Department of Education recognized her work in Nashville. Her most recent projects include consulting with the New York City Department of Education and Los Angeles Public Schools to pivot to blended learning in response to the global pandemic. She serves the South Carolina Department of Education as a transformation coach and leads a community forum and consulting network, K20Connect, along with other passion projects.

Dr. Troy Hicks

Dr. Troy Hicks

Professor of English and Education at Central Michigan University

Dr. Troy Hicks is a professor of English and education at Central Michigan University where he collaborates with K–12 colleagues to explore how they implement newer literacies in their classrooms. He directs the Chippewa River Writing Project, a site of the National Writing Project, and teaches masters and doctoral courses in educational technology. Dr. Hicks has authored dozens of books, articles, chapters, blog posts, and other resources broadly related to the teaching of literacy in our digital age.

Alicia Meador

Alicia Meador

Teacher and Learning Coach, Warren County Public Schools, KY

Alicia is a 13‑year education veteran. After earning her B.S. from Western Kentucky University, she taught 3rd and 4th grade at Plano Elementary for a decade. She later completed an M.S. in Library Media Education, earned National Board certification, and has served as Plano’s Teaching & Learning Coach since 2021, fostering professional and academic growth.

Katherine Beals

Katherine Beals

Elementary Teacher, Warren County Public Schools, KY

Katherine holds a BS in Elementary Education & Spanish (U. Kentucky) and an MS in Gifted & Talented Ed (WKU). A National Board–certified Middle Childhood teacher, she’s also certified in Gifted Ed and leads the Student Technology Leadership Program. Katherine is also a founding member of the HMH AI Council. Viewing AI as a “power‑up,” she guides students to use it for ideas, information, and proofreading, while relying on its quick insights into learning trends to sharpen her own instruction and coaching.
