Facebook Live With Writable: Turning Students Into Active Peer Reviewers

Writable222

Writing can be a big challenge for students in the classroom today. In this Facebook Live from ISTE 2018, teacher educator Troy Hicks explained how the guided practice platform Writable supports writing instruction and provides scaffolding that allows students to become more active reviewers.

Research shows that peer reviews make a difference in students’ writing, especially if they are done well. Writable includes organizational features such as comment stems and Likert scales that move students beyond surface-level observations to more substantive reviews.

Watch this interview to learn more about how to improve students’ writing, reading, and editing abilities.
