Benita Flucker is Senior Vice President and Chief Quality and Inclusion Officer of HMH, the leading EdTech provider of K–12 products and services across the globe. At HMH, Benita leads the strategy for and development of high-quality instructional materials and services supporting students and educators, while strengthening HMH’s collaborative and affirming culture as executive advisor to all Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). Benita also oversees strategic content development operations and drives execution of HMH’s product management vision in a shared services business model that follows Lean principles and Agile practices.

Benita’s passion centers on improving academic outcomes for all students and increasing leadership representation for traditionally underrepresented communities across the education ecosystem. Most recently, she has spearheaded HMH’s commitment to ensuring all students are positively reflected in our content and was founding executive co-sponsor of HMH’s Black Alliance ERG. Benita is a member of Chief, a private network for the most powerful women in leadership; a board advisor to Ascentiya, which focuses on economic empowerment for women; and a founding member of Innovation for Equity (IFE), a group of highly accomplished EdTech leaders collectively scaling innovative solutions for children of color and increasing African American leadership across the EdTech industry.

Benita brings more than 25 years of progressive EdTech leadership experience in a variety of markets (academic, reference, trade, K–12, and higher education), with offshore and domestic outsourcing and international business management. Benita attended the University of Michigan as well as the distinguished Publishing Institute at the University of Denver, having been awarded a highly competitive graduate school scholarship. She is a frequent speaker and panelist on executive and leadership development, childhood literacy and education, and intellectual property topics, and serves on several professional boards, advisory committees, and industry organizations.

Benita and her husband, U.S. Army Colonel (Retired) Will Flucker, Jr., reside in the Austin, Texas, area. She’s a proud grandmother to six amazing young people.
