HMH's Social Media Guidelines
Welcome to HMH’s Official Social Media Community Rules.
HMH wants every visitor’s experience with our social media channels to be positive, inspiring, and engaging, so we ask everyone to adhere to the following guidelines. We reserve the right to remove any posts/comments that we feel are in violation and will ban offenders, with or without warning, on an as needed basis.
You are free to speak your mind, but HMH will use our own discretion regarding what is appropriate within our social media channels.
Use Common Courtesy
- Show respect for fellow community members, even if your opinion differs.
- Racism, bigotry, misogyny, threats of harassment or physical harm, or hate speech will not be tolerated. Hate speech is defined as abusive or threatening speech or writing that expresses prejudice against a particular group, especially on the basis of race, religion, sexuality, ethnicity, nationality, gender, or disability.
Be Appropriate
- Do not use profanity—even if it is masked with symbols or abbreviations.
- Statements, videos, or images that are inappropriate or derogatory in nature will be removed.
Do Not Post Spam
- Do not repeatedly post the same message in order to emphasize a point.
- Self-promotional content or links will be deleted and the user will be banned.
- Do not repost deleted comments or comments from individuals who have been blocked.
We reserve the right to remove any content that:
- is libelous, profane, defamatory, disparaging, hateful, harassing, threatening, or obscene.
- is off topic.
- is “Trolling” or posting deliberately disruptive statements meant to hijack comment threads or throw discussions off-track.
- is otherwise sexual or offensive, graphically or in tone.
- is “spam” activity or is redundant to other posts.
- solicits sales or charitable donations.
- is “link baiting,” that is, embedding a link in your post to draw traffic to your own site.
- is violating copyright or intellectual property laws.
