This 2016 What Works Clearinghouse Intervention Report: Adolescent Literacy for READ 180 presents the results of nine studies that meet WWC eligibility criteria.  Based on these studies of 8,755 adolescent readers in more than 66 schools in 15 school districts in 10 states, the WWC considers the extent of evidence for READ 180 on the reading achievement of adolescent readers to be medium to large for comprehension, general literacy achievement, and reading fluency. READ 180 was found to have positive effects on comprehension and general literacy achievement and potentially positive effects on reading fluency for adolescent readers.
