By the time today’s elementary students reach adulthood, 75% of new career opportunities will likely be in STEM fields. ScienceFusion® combines the interactive digital engagement today’s students expect, and the learning support they need, to advance in science with in-depth understanding.
Award-winning Digital Lessons and Virtual Labs, enhanced by more than 3,000 videos, animations, and simulations, create learning that lasts by enriching the print program with complementary content. Open the door to a world of science beyond the classroom.
Maximize learning options with two complete curricula—print and digital.
Engage students in science through virtual and hands-on labs.
Build critical-thinking skills for success in science beyond the classroom.
"Some students prefer the text, some prefer the audio, some prefer the digital lessons. I want them to have access to what’s going to make them successful."
ScienceFusion offers two complete curricula supported by online resources for planning, instruction, and assessment. With two different learning paths (one print, one digital) and distinct content approaches for each lesson, teachers have twice the instructional power and student engagement is maximized.
A full range of interactive instructional options—write-in worktext, digital lessons, hands-on or virtual labs—engages students in small-group, lab, or whole-class settings.
Inquiry lessons (Grades K–5) and Labs (Grades 6–8) support every learner in print and online with three levels of scaffolded differentiation: directed, guided, and independent inquiry.
Digital lessons offer technology-enhanced questions with interactivity like drag and drop, match, and more.
Inquiry Flip Charts (K–5) facilitate small-group, hands-on work. Lab Manuals (6–8) support the full range of labs with data sheets, safety notes, tips for modification, and more.
Where will your instruction take you? With HMH Field Trips powered by Google® Expeditions, the answer is virtually anywhere. As a proud Google Content Partner, we have developed 360-degree virtual field trips that allow students to travel through history, explore the world, and witness scientific wonders without ever leaving the classroom!
An immersive digital program enriches the curriculum with timely videos, simulations, HMH Field Trips powered by Google Expeditions, and opportunities for further online exploration.
ScienceFusion was built to A Framework for K–12 Science Education, the foundation of the NGSS.
A spiraled technology and coding curriculum for Grades 1–8 ensures that students meet the engineering standards expectations.
Robust STEM opportunities include real-world challenges, hands-on activities, and Video-based Projects, and Careers in Science or People in Science profiles get students thinking about pursuing their own STEM careers.
Every lesson guides teachers through activities, probing questions, misconception alerts, differentiated instruction, and vocabulary support.
To build nonfiction literacy skills, Science & Engineering Leveled Readers with Teacher Guides are available in a range of Lexile® readability levels.
The Teacher Online Management Center is designed to make it easier for teachers to access program resources to plan, teach, assess, and track.

Single-grade elementary editions feature complete print and digital curricula: write-in textbooks and Interactive Online Student and Teacher Editions with additional digital resources.
At the middle school level, 11 topical modules (write-in texts plus full digital editions) covering Life, Earth & Space, Physical Science, and Engineering can be matched to a district’s standards progression.
Carefully vetted during its development, ScienceFusion’s success in improving student achievement is proven repeatedly in classroom testing.
20 different control and experimental classes were included in this report on the findings of the impact study. Results showed statistically significant results in which use of ScienceFusion showed greater student gains than the control group.
This reports focuses on the findings of the impact study at Grade 7 in which one teacher with five different classes in New York State utilized one complete unit of the program. Statistically significant improvements were found for all students with the greatest improvements shown for students beginning at a low level.
Three different schools in three different states utilized several units of ScienceFusion at Grades 2, 4 and 7 for the evaluation of the program’s impact on improving student knowledge and skills in science and at varying student ability levels.
