LaVondia Alexander Menephee

School Counselor and Community Yoga Teacher; Houston, Texas

LaVondia Alexander Menephee is a native Houstonian and Texas Southern University alumna whose passion for drawing out the best in others has taken her through various opportunities in K-12 and higher education, where she now serves as a school counselor and adjunct professor.

Her personal commitment to school community wellness has led to opportunities to blog with Teacher2Teacher, a national professional learning network for educators, and to train nationally with FuelEd, a non-profit that empowers educators to build secure relationships throughout school communities.

As co-founder of Phee-nomenal Coaching, LaVondia consistently seeks new ways to create spaces for others to "give birth" to new ideas and ways of looking at life's challenges. Realizing the need to increase her skill set to meet her community’s social and emotional needs post-COVID, she has dedicated her time to becoming a registered yoga teacher (RYT500) so that she could effectively facilitate virtual community yoga classes and healing circles for children, parents, and staff at her school.

In addition to all of this, LaVondia's most cherished roles are wife of Calvin R. Menephee and mother of Sheree and Calyn Menephee.
