Juan Villarreal
Principal, Gunn Junior High School

Juan Villarreal was an ESL student from a low socioeconomic level family and has firsthand experience with the student population at Gunn Junior High School. His experience has taught him that all is possible if students can access appropriate resources. Fortunate to have caring family members and teachers, he received his bachelor’s degree from Angelo State University while on a track-and-field scholarship and his master’s degree with a principal certification from Sul Ross State University. He taught Spanish and math labs for 10 years, was an assistant principal for 14 years, and has been a principal for five years.
