Dr. Jerry Sarquis
Author of Modern Chemistry, Dr. Jerry Sarquis, Professor Emeritus of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, is an active member of the American Chemical Society’s Division of Chemical Education and has been involved in Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) and Peer-Led Team Learning (PLTL) initiatives. Dr. Sarquis has made numerous presentations on PLTL, POGIL, teaching science with toys, and using polling system pedagogy in general chemistry. He is an advocate for groups traditionally underrepresented in the STEM disciplines and is a member of the American Chemical Society’s Committee on Minority Affairs.
