Jamie Kubiak is the chemistry teacher at Park East High School in East Harlem, New York City, where he has taught for five years. He is the co-advisor of Park East’s Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA). He previously taught chemistry and biology for one year at a high school in Brooklyn, New York. He attended Michigan State University, earning his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a minor in Spanish. Then, he attended Relay Graduate School of Education and obtained his Master of Arts in Teaching degree.

Jamie is a Math for America (MfA) Teaching Fellow, a four-year fellowship for distinguished math and science teachers in New York City. Jamie has presented his “Queer Your Classroom” at the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA) Conference in 2019 and several times with MfA. Bringing LGBTQIA+ inclusivity to all classrooms is paramount to Jamie’s work as a teacher.
