Harold Asturias
Harold Asturias is the Director of the Center for Mathematics Excellence and Equity (CeMEE) at the University of California, Berkeley. He has experience providing professional development in the areas of standards and assessment in math for large urban districts and smaller, rural districts. He has also designed and implemented professional development for K–12 math teachers who teach English language learners. An English language learner himself, Harold Asturias has helped MATH 180 integrate a focus on the language of math with explicit language goals and vocabulary routines, as well as support for English language learners.
