Dr. Elva Duran

Dr. Elva Duran holds a Ph.D. from the University of Oregon in special education and reading disabilities. She has been an elementary reading and middle school teacher in Texas and overseas. Currently, she is a professor in the department of Special Education, Rehabilitation, and School Psychology at California State University, Sacramento, where she teaches beginning reading and language and literacy courses. Elva is co-author of the Leamos Español reading program and has published two textbooks, Teaching Students with Moderate/ Severe Disabilities and Systematic Instruction in Reading for Spanish-Speaking Students.
