Breyon Williams is a PhD economist and researcher in Mathematica's DC office. As a researcher, Breyon applies statistical, econometric, and causal inference techniques to design, implementation, and evaluation research of education programs and policies. He is particularly interested in examining how and to what extent these programs and policies impact wellbeing and socioeconomic and racial disparities. For example, Breyon has research experience in examining causal relationships between academic outcomes and education policies associated with early childhood education, school nutrition, and financial aid in higher education. His work has been published in the Economics of Education Review, a leading journal in the economics of education sub-field.

Prior to joining Mathematica in 2020, Breyon was an Associate at Analysis Group in Boston, MA, and earned his B.A. in political science and M.A. in economics, both from the University of South Carolina. He also served in state government in South Carolina as a Program Coordinator for the South Carolina Revenue and Fiscal Affairs Office, where he developed relationships with multiple government agencies as an economic researcher.
