Asari Beale

Asari Beale is a writer, educator, and leader deeply committed to children’s literacy. She is the executive director of the Teachers & Writers Collaborative (T&W). T&W provides writing workshops for youth, art workshops for seniors, and training for teachers to support the teaching of creative writing. She serves on the editorial board of Teachers & Writers Magazine and is a member of the Board of Directors of the NYC Arts in Education Roundtable. She also serves on the steering committees of LitNet, a network serving America’s literary community, and the Writers in the Schools Alliance, a national coalition of writers-in-the-schools programs. She has taught literature and creative writing at Hunter College, Brooklyn College, and Fordham University.
