Amelia Herrera is an English Language Development teacher at the Language Institute at Modesto City Schools in California and a READ 180 Teacher of the Year award finalist. Currently Herrera is approaching the dissertation research stage of her EdD in Educational Leadership at California State University, Stanislaus. She plans on continuing her work in education, both as a teacher and with local educational organizations, and hopes to implement change that will provide a more equitable and quality education for each and every student in her schools.
