Houghton Mifflin Harcourt's SkillsTutor Partners with Intel to Provide Schools a Total Learning Technology Solution

PHILADELPHIA – At the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) conference in Philadelphia, SkillsTutor, a division of global education leader Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH), announced an innovative partnership with Intel and Equus Computer. Schools implementing SkillsTutor digital learning programs will now be provided with hardware as part of an integrated solution, eliminating the need for users to choose between great hardware or proven software technology. Teachers and administrators will now have more opportunities to integrate purpose-built technology into their classrooms without worrying about budget restraints.

“In order to engage the 21st century learner, education companies and educators must find ways to transform traditional learning into an anytime, anywhere ecosystem,” said Adam Hall, President of SkillsTutor. “By providing students with both leading software and devices, we can make sure they are able to take advantage of all that the SkillsTutor suite has to offer, in an innovative way that meets them where they already are. SkillsTutor is leading the way in ensuring that installed base hardware limitations do not stop schools from providing their students with the best technology available.”

Through the partnership with Intel and Equus, SkillsTutor is able to offer a solution to help overcome hardware limitations at schools around the country. SkillsTutor will provide favorable education pricing on total solution subscriptions that include SkillsTutor content on Intel-powered convertible net-book Classmate PCs provided and supported by Equus Computer.

“Intel is excited to be working closely with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in bringing industry leading learning solutions to schools,” said Kapil Wadhera, General Manager of Intel’s Education Market Platforms Group. “Intel® Learning Series solutions make learning engaging for children, helping teachers build the skills that their students will need to be successful in the future.”

In addition to changing the landscape of educational partnerships, SkillsTutor continues to make its programs even more available and optimized for mobile devices. Math Fact Fluency will now be offered in mobile form, allowing students to access the research-proven, all-digital program from anywhere. Math Fact Fluency is only the beginning, as SkillsTutor continues its efforts to make all of its content available on the latest tablet devices. Currently, SkillsTutor programs are compatible with Windows, iOS, and Droid operating systems as well as traditional devices found in schools.
