Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Launches Curious About Me, a New Digital App Building Foundational Skills for Early Learners

BOSTON – Global education leader Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH) today announced Curious About Me for iPad® and iPhone®—an interactive story-building app that fosters language development skills and celebrates the curiosity and individuality of early learners. In this latest addition to the Curious About series, children are accompanied by their favorite mischievous monkey, Curious George, as they create their own customized storybooks.

Developed for preschool-aged children, the app enables learners to star in two unique stories—Curious About Me and Day at the Zoo. By helping children communicate their personal experiences and interests through drawings, activities, and photographs and recordings of family members, the app promotes social interaction and collaboration and builds a foundation in language development essential for success in reading and writing.

“For generations, Curious George has brought together parents and children in the spirit of learning and imagination,” says Sanj Kharbanda, SVP of Digital Markets at HMH. “Curious About Me provides an opportunity for parents and children to laugh and play together while also giving young learners an engaging digital outlet in which to create and communicate through words and illustrations.”

Once their masterpiece is complete, children can watch the customized story come to life in a short video that can be saved and shared with friends and family through a child-friendly e-mail function or an in-app gallery. The app also allows parents to create individual profiles for multiple children within a family.

Curious About Me joins HMH’s growing collection of engaging and entertaining apps designed to promote and build foundational education principles in young learners. The series includes Curious George’s Town, Curious About Shapes and Colors, Draw with Curious George, and Curious About Letters.

Curious About Me is available from the App Store℠ for $2.99. Learn more on YouTube.
