K. A. Jagai is a writer, artist, and poet from Brooklyn, New York. A Girls Write Now mentee from ’09-’12, their writing has appeared in Frontier Poetry, Electric Literature, Publishers Weekly, and elsewhere. Last year, they received a 2018 SLS fellowship for the second prize in poetry, and they are presently enrolled in a Cave Canem workshop with Jenny Xie. They substitute teach grades 7-12 at Hunter College High School, and have worked for several years in ESL camps. In 2017, they received a BA from Bennington College.
