Diverse reads for diverse student needs

High-Interest, Accessible Readability

In both READ 180 Universal and System 44, instructional and independent reading texts were carefully selected based on their instructional merits and their ability to capture the interests of adolescent readers.

For those students in need of support in functional reading skills, the HMH solution leads to mastery through explicit instruction, personalized learning, and continuous progress monitoring.

Examples of Student Choice Titles

Digital Student Bookshelf

Students access the Bookshelf to select and read eBooks, eRead nonfiction articles, and audiobooks, and complete comprehension quizzes during Independent Reading.

They can use the toolbar at the top of the screen to view their Lexile measure, books they have read, their total number of words read, and more.

Reading Supports

When in the Independent Reading Bookshelf, students browse texts based on their reading level and/or their interests. Once a text is selected, students can call on additional supports such as text-to-speech audio at varying speeds, zoom, and highlight, as well as a dictionary.
