Jennifer Serravallo is a literacy consultant, speaker, and the author of several popular titles, including the New York Times bestselling The Reading Strategies Book and The Writing Strategies Book. Her latest publications are A Teacher’s Guide to Reading Conferences (2019) and Understanding Texts & Readers (2018) which connects comprehension goals to text levels and readers’ responses. Her Complete Comprehension resources, which are revised and reimagined whole-book assessment and teaching resources based on the award-winning IRA, are due out in April and May of 2019. She was a Senior Staff Developer at the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project at Columbia University. Jen also taught in elementary grades in New York City public schools as well as graduate and undergraduate courses at Teachers College and Vassar College.
