Boston -- Dec 8th, 2011 -- Boston-based publisher Houghton Mifflin Harcourt has just struck a deal to publish a book by former Red Sox manager Terry Francona and the Boston Globe’s Dan Shaughnessy, an insightful, honest and entertaining narrative of Francona’s tenure with the Sox franchise, during which time he managed two teams to world series victories (including their first in 86 years) and oversaw some of the most iconic and colorful players in the game.

"We're thrilled to publish the story of Terry Francona's eight year stint as manager of the Boston Red Sox,” said Gary Gentel, President of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt’s Trade Division. “Francona was arguably the most successful manager in franchise history during one of the most storied chapters of that history. Meanwhile, Dan Shaughnessy has covered the Red Sox for more than three decades. This powerful combination is certain to craft a book that will inform and entertain any fan of baseball.”
