BOSTON — Learning technology company HMH today announced that its best-in-class science curriculum HMH Into Science® Texas is now connected to NWEA’s best-in-class MAP® GrowthTM science assessment. Texas districts who have MAP Growth and HMH Into Science will benefit from a powerful toolkit to measure and achieve student growth starting back-to-school 2024.

Providing educators with deep insights into student growth and performance, benefits of this unique connection will include daily reporting and interim data to provide a complete picture of student knowledge of the Science TEKS. The MAP Growth science assessment will measure student performance three times per year, with projected proficiency on the STAAR Science Test, and educators will also have access to daily check-ins on student performance against state standards, as well as unified reporting. Key MAP Growth data will appear in the Reports tab on HMH’s EdTM platform alongside HMH Into Science Texas data, giving teachers a single spot to review students’ progress.

Approved by the Texas State Board of Education for adoption, HMH Into Science Texas K-8 received 100% ratings from the state review committees for TEKS and ELPS alignment and 100% TEKS alignment for K-6 ¡Arriba las Ciencias! Texas. HMH Into Science Texas K-8 was also one of the few programs that that received 100% ratings on all criteria for all grades in the Texas Resource Review.

Grounded in extensive research with educators, HMH Into Science Texas enables students to explore science phenomenon, allowing them to engage in collaborative investigations that provide meaningful science instruction. Developed specifically for Texas, it comprehensively covers the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) curriculum standards to ensure that educators can confidently meet required objectives.

MAP® Growth™ provides valuable data for teachers on students’ science knowledge and supports learners as they work toward STEM- or STEAM-focused coursework or careers. By adapting to each student’s performance, all MAP Growth science assessments offer a personalized experience. Test questions get harder or easier based on whether the student gets the previous question correct, allowing MAP Growth to assess student understanding above and below grade level.
