Broderbund was a division of Riverdeep, which merged with Houghton Mifflin Company in 2006.

DataDirector is an online data tracking, reporting, and management solution that puts powerful decision-making support in the hands of educators. DataDirector joined Riverside Publishing in 2007.

Earobics

A powerful early literacy reading intervention solution, Earobics offers multimedia materials, books, teacher's guides and other resources in addition to software instruction to support phonemic awareness and guide pre-K–grade 3 learners along the appropriate instructional path. Earobics joined Houghton Mifflin Company in 2003.

Edmark House Series

Designed by early literacy and special needs experts, the award-winning, web-based Edmark House Series introduces early learners in pre-K–grade 2 to reading, math, science, social studies, and other useful skills such as telling time. It also includes powerful management and reporting features to monitor progress and gauge student proficiency. The Edmark House Series is a product of Riverdeep, which merged with Houghton Mifflin Company in 2006.

Education Media and Publishing Group International (EMPGI)

Education Media and Publishing Group International (EMPGI), builds and operates educational content and services companies in partnership with entrepreneurs and local institutions across fast-growing markets that include China, India, Saudi Arabia, and Libya. Established in 2008, EMPGI is a joint venture between our parent company, EMPG (Education Media and Publishing Group), and Istithmar World Capital.

Edusoft Assessment Management System

The Edusoft Assessment Management System is a standards-based, proven solution that makes it easy for districts to administer benchmarks and classroom tests and then to collect, analyze, and act on assessment data to inform classroom instruction and improve student performance. Edusoft joined Riverside Publishing in 2003.

Great Source

Serving pre-K–grade 12, Great Source publishes standards-based resources for reading, writing, language arts, math, and science as well as programs for extended day and summer school, secondary reading intervention, English as a second language, test preparation, and professional development. Great Source joined Houghton Mifflin Company in 1996.

Harcourt School Publishers

Since 1919, Harcourt School Publishers has offered exemplary textbooks and related instructional materials for school and home use by students in pre-K–grade 6. Harcourt School Publishers merged with Houghton Mifflin School Division in 2007.

Heinemann

Established in 1978, Heinemann is the nation's leader in providing trusted professional resources and educational services to teachers of kindergarten through college. Heinemann merged with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in 2007.

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt International Publishers

Established in the 1970s, International Publishers and its team of representatives and agents sell Houghton Mifflin Harcourt products and services to customers outside of the United States.

Holt, Rinehart and Winston

Holt, Rinehart and Winston is a recognized leader in secondary educational solutions for language arts, science, health, social studies, math, and world languages as well as advanced and elective materials for art, humanities, and music. Holt merged with McDougal Littell in 2007.

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Trade and Reference Publishers

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Trade and Reference Publishers offers an impressive list of award-winning titles fiction, nonfiction, and reference titles from new and established authors for readers of all ages. The Houghton Mifflin and Harcourt trade groups merged in 2007.

Houghton Mifflin School Publishers

One in four Americans have learned using Houghton Mifflin School Division programs, which include science, reading, language arts, mathematics, and social studies for grades K–8, as well as an integrated pre-K curriculum, reading and math intervention, and professional development. Houghton Mifflin School Division merged with Harcourt School Publishers in 2007.

The Learning Company

The Learning Company offers highly effective and popular educational software brands such as Reader Rabbit, Carmen Sandiego, ClueFinders, Oregon Trail, and Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing. The Learning Company was a division of Riverdeep, which merged with Houghton Mifflin Company in 2006.

McDougal Littell

Acquired by Houghton Mifflin Company in 1994, McDougal Littell publishes an extensive offering of standards-based print and technology materials for language arts, mathematics, social studies, world languages, and science for grades 6–12.

Rigby

For 70 years, Rigby has provided innovative and effective learning solutions for primary education to meet the needs of each individual student. Rigby joined Harcourt in 1996.

Riverdeep

A leading provider of effective interactive educational and personal publishing products, Riverdeep developed such well-known brands as Destination Reading, Destination Math, and Learning Village. Riverdeep merged with Houghton Mifflin Company in 2006.

Riverside Publishing

Since the early 1900s, Riverside Publishing has been a trusted provider of professional testing products and services. The division became a wholly owned subsidiary of Houghton Mifflin Company in 1979.

Saxon

Founded in 1981, Saxon publishes the nation's best-selling and most thoroughly researched skills-based mathematics program for grades K–12 as well as classroom-tested phonics and spelling programs. Saxon joined Harcourt in 2004.

SkillsTutor

SkillsTutor provides scientifically based content that is easily integrated into curriculum to help kindergartner through adult learners master essential skills. SkillsTutor joined Houghton Mifflin Company in 2006.

Steck-Vaughn

Steck-Vaughn offers a comprehensive range of educational materials used in preschools, K–12 classrooms, homes, libraries, workplace learning centers, GED classes, adult literacy programs joined part of Harcourt in 1997.
